What Size Salli Stool Do I Need?

Getting the size right is the single most important decision when buying a Salli stool. This guide will walk you through everything.

The Golden Rule of Saddle Sitting

Your hips should sit slightly higher than your knees.

This single principle — hips above knees — is what unlocks all the ergonomic benefits of a Salli saddle stool. Get this right and everything else follows naturally.

Step by step

How to find your correct height range

1

Measure your height

Stand barefoot and note your height in feet and inches. This is your starting point for selecting the right gas stem height range.

2

Select your height range

Use the table below to match your height to the correct Salli size — Small, Medium or Large. If you're on the border, go for the larger size.

3

Fine-tune on arrival

When your stool arrives, set it to the height where your hips sit 5–10cm above your knees with feet flat on the floor. This is your working height.

Height ranges

Small

For users under 5ft (152cm)

Seat height: 42.9 – 54.4cm

Suitable for smaller frames

Large

For users over 5ft 5 (165cm)

Seat height: 58.4 – 82.6cm

For taller practitioners

Standard or Narrow seat?

In addition to height, some Salli models offer a choice of seat width. This affects how wide the seat halves are, not the gap between them.

Standard seat (405–425mm)

Suitable for most practitioners. This is the default size and fits the majority of users comfortably. If you're unsure, start with standard.

Small / Narrow seat (345–365mm)

5–7cm narrower than the standard seat. Recommended for users under 5ft 6 or those with a narrower frame who find the standard seat too wide. Particularly popular with female practitioners.

Not sure? Book a trial

The best way to confirm your size is to trial the stool in your practice. We can advise you on the right height and width during the trial and adjust if needed before you commit to purchase.
